Sealing the Tattoo Portal

When we enter the sacred time and space of marking the body, my teacher, Mark Narado, taught me the importance of closing the tattoo portal. Concluding the ceremony with a nourishing act of gratitude — for the body and for the helping spirits called in during the opening — is a deeply significant step. It is a moment to consciously program the aligned information into the marking, sealing the work and the medicine within, with intention and reverence.

This closing moment acknowledges that the tattoo is complete, and it ensures that what is sealed within the skin is held with clarity: free of distortion, aligned with the person’s true identity and purpose.

So how does it work?

It can begin with a gentle guided meditation inviting the person to tune into the parts of the body that were marked.

We then travel back in time — to when the idea of this tattoo first emerged. We feel into the motivation behind it and the small steps that led to its creation. By remembering this journey, we realign with the original intention.

Returning to the present moment, we breathe deeply, focusing on the sensation of the skin. Breathing into the marking, we feel the skin tightening, sealing itself with pure energy and intention. We imagine the cells welcoming the carbon and water, while the soul acknowledges this new layer of prayer and story now etched into the body.

Finally, we journey toward the future — visualizing ourselves with the healed, integrated tattoo, fully lived-in and embodied. In this vision, we are living in alignment with our true identity, walking with purpose, joy, empowerment, and wholeness.

We acknowledge the marking as complete. We visiualize the power of the tattoo settling gently into the skin, allowing its healing essence to travel wherever it is needed — body, soul, and spirit — through the doorway of the tattoo, activating the healing process of the whole being.
